Marie (Sinkinson) Sexton, M.Ed.
Marie is an Educational Diagnostician specializing in learning disabilities and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. She has been an educator for 35 years and has 18 years' experience in diagnosing learning disabilities. In addition to starting and running the Sinkinson Dyslexia Foundation, Inc. Marie is the founder and owner/operator of Tidewater Learning Center in Virginia Beach. She is also currently on staff at Tidewater Community College as an evaluator for the Office of Student Accessibility. Marie and her family moved to Virginia Beach in 1996 by the military. She is the proud wife of a retired Navy Commander and mother of 4 children.

Christin, Marie's oldest daughter, has been working within the education field since 1999. She has a BS in Psychology, with a minor in Counseling, from Old Dominion University. She is also the Assistant Director and a specialized private tutor that works with students of all ages and learning disabilities at Tidewater Learning Center. She has a loving husband and a teenage daughter. They enjoy spending time outdoors in their garden and camping in the mountains.
Lisa Renee Jennings
Eric Sherwood is the Director of Operations of [OV]Church in Norfolk as well as the Director of Operations for Ocean View Christian Academy. He also serves on the management team of Coaster Coffee, a local non-profit coffee shop. He is happily married to his wife Erin and has two children, Connor and Hailee. Eric's mission in life is to serve Christ through generosity of his time, talents and treasure to support those in our community in need.
Jake is a singer, songwriter that recently released his third album, "Eyes on the Horizon". He best known for playing the saxaphone with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band since 2012. Jake has over 11 years of volunteer work in mentoring and leadership development for Young Life and Christian Surfer organizations. He holds a degree from the Governor's School for the Arts.
Jacob was born in Wrightsville Beach. He was diagnosed with dyslexia in the third grade and continued to struggle through high school. After giving up on high school he enrolled in the Commonwealth Challenge and obtained his GED. He was re-diagnosed with dyslexia by Marie Sexton to receive accomidations through Tidewater Community College, where he later went on to graduate. Jacob is currently the safety director for E.G. Middleton, Inc. Jacob enjoys a variety of activities including MMA, Spartan races, fishing, and spending time with his son.
