Marie (Sinkinson) Sexton, M.Ed.
Marie is an Educational Diagnostician specializing in learning disabilities and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. She has been an educator for 35 years and has 18 years' experience in diagnosing learning disabilities. In addition to starting and running the Sinkinson Dyslexia Foundation, Inc. Marie is the founder and owner/operator of Tidewater Learning Center in Virginia Beach. She is also currently on staff at Tidewater Community College as an evaluator for the Office of Student Accessibility. Marie and her family moved to Virginia Beach in 1996 by the military. She is the proud wife of a retired Navy Commander and mother of 4 children.
Chief Operating Office
Christin, Marie's oldest daughter, has been working within the field of education for 17 years. She has a BS in Psychology with a minor in counseling from Old Dominion University. She is also the Assistant Director and a specialized private tutor that works with students of all ages and learning disabilities at Tidewater Learning Center. She has a loving husband and 13 year old daughter. They enjoy spending time outdoors in their garden and camping in the mountains.
Michelle Rack, JD
Michelle ReDavid Rack is an attorney with the Virginia Beach law firm of Rack & Olansen, P.C., where she specializes in fiduciary litigation and elder law. She and her husband, Kevin, the senior partner of the firm, have two beautiful daughters, Peyton and Emily. Michelle is an active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Parish.
Eric is the Financial Administrator at [OV] Church and owner of No Short Cuts Landscape Services. He is a graduate of Old Dominion University. He is happily married to his wife Erin and has two children, Connor and Hailee.
Jake a singer songwriter who has played with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band since 2012. He was previously VP of Corrente Design Group, an award winning marketing agency. He was host and assistant producer for the award winning youth culture show "1Cubed" on ABC Family network. Jake has over 11 years of volunteer work in mentoring and leadership development for Young Life and Christian Surfer organizations. He holds a degree from the Governor's School for the Arts. He resides in Virginia Beach.
Jacob was born in Wrightsville Beach. He was diagnosed with dyslexia in the third grade and continued to struggle through high school. After giving up on high school he enrolled in the Commonwealth ChalleNGe and obtained his GED. He was re-diagnosed with dyslexia by Marie Sexton to receive accomidations through Tidewater Community College where he is currently obtaining a degree in industrial safety for his CSP Certification. Jacob is currently the safety director for E.G. Middleton, Inc. Jacob enjoys a variety of activities including MMA, Spartan races, fishing, and spending time with his son.
Mr. Trainor has over 38 years of experience as a senior executive in corporations ranging from Fortune 200 companies to entrepreneurial start-ups in a variety of industries, including media and publishing, sports marketing, real estate, financial services, and software development. Currently he is President and one the founding partners of StratusLIVE, LLC. StratusLIVE is a leading provider of cloud-based fundraising, CRM, and Business Intelligence solutions to nonprofit organizations. StratusLIVE is headquartered in Virginia Beach, Virginia, with multiple offices throughout the United States. Prior to StratusLIVE, Mr. Trainor was Executive Vice President of Compass Technology, a leading provider of integrated CRM solutions to the nonprofit market. Mr. Trainor was responsible for sales, marketing and business development at Compass. During his tenure, Compass developed a multi-million dollar sales pipeline for its fundraising product, Compass CRM for Fundraisers, while earning numerous awards from Microsoft for marketing excellence. Previously, Mr. Trainor was the Chief Operating Officer of Liberty Tax Service and served as the Chief Operating Officer of Home-Link Services, Inc., a web-enabled home services provider. Mr. Trainor has also held several executive positions with Cendant Corporation and served as Executive Vice President at Century 21 Real Estate and President and CEO of Jackson Hewitt Tax Service.
Earlier in his career Mr. Trainor held a series of management positions in advertising, media, and publishing, including Associate Publisher of New Yorker magazine, Advertising Director of Esquire magazine, and Vice President of Marketing and Advertising for USF&G. Mr. Trainor began his career in management with Oscar Mayer following his graduation from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Marketing.
